What goes on a report card?

The school, the student's name and grade, the teacher and the school year; a grade for each subject in each term; short comments; attendance; and signature lines. Many report cards also print the grading key so families know what each grade means. This template has a place for each part, and every label can be changed.

  1. Type the school, student, grade and year.
  2. Pick the terms: quarters, trimesters or semesters.
  3. Type each subject's grades and a comment.
  4. Add attendance and a general comment.
  5. Download the PDF or Word file.

How is GPA worked out on the 4.0 scale?

Each letter grade becomes points, A 4, B 3, C 2, D 1 and F 0, and the GPA is their average. In the College Board's example, three As, a B and a C make 4 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 15 points, which divided by five gives 3.4.

How do I write report card comments?

Name one thing the student does well and one thing to work on, with a specific example, such as reads aloud with expression, or checks math work before handing it in. Keep each comment to a sentence or two so it fits beside the grades, and put longer notes in the general comment box below the grid.
