What should a certificate include?

The kind of certificate as a heading, the recipient's name, what it is for (a course, an event or an achievement), the date, and the name of the organization giving it. Add one or two signatures with names and titles. A certificate number and a seal are optional and make a copy easier to check against your records.

  1. Pick the kind: award, completion, appreciation, achievement or participation.
  2. Type the course, event or reason.
  3. Paste the names, one per line.
  4. Add your logo, the date and the signatures.
  5. Choose a design and download one PDF with a page per name.

How do I make certificates for a whole class or team at once?

Paste the names into the Names box, one per line, or copy a column from a spreadsheet. Each name gets its own page in a single PDF with the same wording, date, signatures and design. Turn on numbering to give each certificate its own number in order. Long names shrink to fit one line.

What is the difference between a certificate of completion and a certificate of achievement?

A certificate of completion confirms that someone finished a course, program or training. A certificate of achievement recognizes how well they did, such as top marks or a goal reached. Appreciation thanks someone for help or service, and participation records that they took part. Pick the kind and the wording changes to match.

What size is a certificate?

A printed certificate is usually the size of a normal sheet of printer paper: US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, or A4, the international ISO 216 size of 210 by 297 mm. Landscape suits long names and two signatures. This maker keeps a 0.4 inch margin so a home printer does not cut off the frame.

Limits

  • No online verification page. Numbers are for your own records.
  • One design per batch. All names in a PDF share the same wording and look.
  • Fonts come with the design. Each design sets its own type; signatures can be drawn, typed or uploaded.
