How do I make a sign-in sheet?
Pick a layout, such as event or visitor, then click the title, details and column headings on the sheet and type your own. Add or remove columns and make them wider where people write more, like email. Choose how many pages of rows to print, then download the PDF and print it for the front desk or the door.
- Choose a layout to start from.
- Type the title and details on the sheet.
- Edit the column headings; add or remove columns.
- Set the pages of rows and row height.
- Download the PDF and print.
What should a sign-in sheet ask for?
Only what you will use. A visitor log usually needs a name, who they are visiting, and the times in and out; an event list may add an email for follow-up. The FTC's guide for businesses advises not collecting sensitive personal information you have no legitimate business need for, so leave off anything you will not use.
How many names fit on one sign-in sheet?
With half-inch margins, a portrait US Letter page holds 27 rows of normal height and 20 taller rows for handwriting; landscape holds 19. The numbers come from the page height left under the title and column headings. Set Pages of rows to print enough for the crowd you expect.
Limits
- Paper only. People sign the printout; there is no digital check-in.
- Up to 12 columns and 50 pages at a time.
