How do I print a PDF as a poster?

Press Choose a PDF and pick the page to enlarge. Choose how many sheets across and down, the paper size, the overlap and the printer margin; the finished poster size shows as you change them. Press Make poster, download the PDF, and print every sheet at Actual size. Trim the margins and glue the sheets in row order.

4. Print at Actual size (100%), then trim and glue the sheets by their labels.

How big will my poster be?

It depends on the grid and the paper. Each sheet loses its printer margin and neighbouring sheets share the overlap, so the poster is a little smaller than the sheets side by side. On A4 sheets with 10 mm margins and overlap, an A4 page becomes 37 × 52 cm on 4 sheets and 73 × 103 cm on 16.

How do I put the poster sheets together?

Lay the sheets out by the labels at their bottom edge, row 1 at the top and column 1 on the left. Trim the white margin from edges that will overlap, using the corner marks, then glue each sheet over its neighbour so the shared strip lines up. Work row by row, then join the rows.

Will the poster be blurry?

Text, lines and shapes in the PDF stay perfectly sharp, because the page is enlarged as a drawing, not as a picture. Photos inside the page are enlarged with it, so a small photo can look soft at poster size. For a sharp printed photo, start from a PDF whose pictures are large enough for the final size.
